Trueo Moves Prediction Market From Base to Ethereum

Trueo is moving its prediction market from Base to Ethereum mainnet, a change that reflects how quickly the trade-off between low fees and ecosystem reach can shift in crypto infrastructure.

The company said Base was the right launch venue when Ethereum gas costs were higher. It now sees mainnet as the better long-term home because it offers broader integration potential across the Ethereum stack.

The move underscores a familiar pattern in decentralized finance and on-chain applications: projects often begin on lower-cost layer-2 networks to reduce friction, then migrate closer to Ethereum when they prioritize composability, liquidity access and institutional familiarity.

For prediction markets, that matters. Ethereum mainnet can improve interoperability with wallets, protocols and on-chain capital, but it can also raise transaction costs for users and market makers. The net effect will depend on whether the added integration outweighs the higher cost of participation.

The timing also comes as broader crypto sentiment remains elevated. With the Fear and Greed Index at 78, market participants appear willing to favor infrastructure upgrades and ecosystem consolidation, especially when they support deeper liquidity and stronger protocol connectivity.

Still, the migration does not guarantee immediate traction. Prediction markets remain sensitive to user experience, fee levels and the depth of available counterparties. If Trueo can translate mainnet access into better distribution and tighter market structure, the move could improve its competitive position. If not, the higher cost base may limit activity.
